Concerns for quality
I’ve had my roaster for about a year and there are significant cracks/breaks in the stoneware around the base of the where the chicken sits and the water is held. The cracks go through the piece and it is not useable. It has never been abused and only hand washed. Disappointed

3 Questions
Looking for a crock about 9 inches across and 4 to 6 inches tall I want it for water for my dog and cats. Used to have some but over 20 years of constant use they were starting to leak. Do you have any in that size available?

We do not have any crocks with those specific dimensions. Our two gallon crocks SKU numbers 1505 and 1528 have dimensions of 9.5 inches wide by 9.5 inches tall.

Does this have instructions? We just used it for the first time and we put liquid in the center and veggies in the outer bowl and cooked a brined chicken upright at 400 degrees for over an hour and it was still raw. What did we do wrong?

Cooking times can vary based on cooking method (oven vs grill vs smoker etc), recipe (BBQ vs smoking), and size of the bird. The safest and easiest way to cook perfect chicken, or any meat, is to use an instant read thermometer or leave in thermometer to check doneness.

Can the stoneware be used in a bbq pit?

The stoneware should not be placed on direct flame but will be fine with indirect heat.
