It took a while to realize the top gear can slide back and forth when laid all the way back, to allow finding the right starting position. There is certainly enough force to crack Black Walnuts, but I need to experiment with drying the Black Walnuts to see if I can make it easier to release larger nut pieces. So far, not much luck getting even a 1/4 nut meet out.

Works great for my black walnuts. Remember to buy some food safe silicone spray to lube the moving parts!

Looks cheaper than the original one
Looks much cheaper made than the original one. Just look at the base, what happened, cutting cost to save 5$ in production and make investors happy?

This makes processing black walnuts much easier and well worth the money after using vice grip pliers starting out. Hefty design and easy to use. I processed ten gallons of hulled walnuts with this thing and had no issues. The more I used it, the easier it got. I ended up getting bigger pieces of nut meat than with a hammer or vice grip method.

been using this for a few weeks now with almost 200 walnuts cracked
doesn’t work great with smaller and denser walnuts but is still at least 3x more efficient than a hammer - with these I have to use snips to free around half of the pieces and oftentimes the nutmeat is broken and smashed
with larger and lighter/spinier walnuts, however, it really shines - no snipping required and 90% of all the pieces are freed upon cracking
definitely not as ergonomic as something like grandpa’s goody getter but it’s certainly worth its’ value

Paid to much buying with LEM
Too bad (for me) I found two other outlets that sell this exact same nut cracker for $40 less. Oh well, should have looked around more before committing to LEM.

My husband and I were very disappointed with our cracker since the bolts bend after cracking about 30 wants. I reviewed it, giving a 1. Shortly thereafter I received an email from Ty Z. in development. She sent heavier bolts and now it is working just fine. I am so impressed with Ty and her willingness to get the product straight. She is a keeper for sure. She even arranged for my initial shipping charges to be returned. This is REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!
