Description

Black garlic can be found on menus everywhere, but this unique ingredient isn't anything new. It has been used for flavor and medicinal purposes and in a variety of Asian cuisines for centuries. Black garlic is, simply put, the product of aging regular garlic bulbs over the course of weeks or months. It requires strictly regulated temperature and humidity to achieve its sticky consistency.

Fully Automatic Intelligent Fermenter: Fully automatic operation and easy to set up. Simply select fermentation time: 6-12 days (144- 288 hours) according to garlic type and size.

Power-Off Memory Function: If the power is suddenly cut off during the fermentation, it will automatically enter the fermentation process again as long as electricity is restored.

Aluminum Removeable Inner Pot: The inner pot liner helps to keep the temperature uniform and is easy to use and remove for cleaning. Door buckle ensures secure closure.

Stainless Steel Cage-Like Rack: The rack allows for good air circulation and uniform temperature and is easy to use. The racks can hold and ferment approximately 3 lbs. of garlic at a time. You can adjust the appropriate number of layers according to the height of multiple garlic cloves or single garlic.

Many Other Uses: Our fermenter can also be used to make yogurt, kimchi, fruit wine, natto, and vinegar. Also, can be used to disinfect non plastic household items.

Super Food Maker
Black garlic is an amazing food. The fermenter is a fast and clean way to make it. I will try doing other things with it in the future. It is a 5 star for sure.

Great machine!
I love this machine! I've made several batches in a month & the garlic is delicious. It's much better & a lot faster than a crock pot! This was a great investment for me! Thank you!

Not Stainless
I rarely review products but this one stung. I ordered this machine based on a question/answer that the lining of this was stainless steel. I know in the description it states a stainless cage but I couldn't find the mention of any other materials. So I assumed the responder was correct. My bad. The inner pot is aluminum lined with Teflon and the upper lid is aluminum. The return shipping cost was nearly the same as the cost of the product. Ouch. I just want to be sure nobody else buys this thinking it is all stainless. My search continues...

This dehydrator works great. Put the garlic in and then check it in 7-10 days and wham!…..you’ve got black garlic.

Works fine
I like this fermenter. I've used it a few times already for Amazake. I was able to cook the rice on one setting and then ferment it on another.
One improvement would be if there were a "total manual" setting for both time and temp, like insta-pots have. All the settings are pre-set, so I have to be creative in adjusting the settings for the Amazake.
Also, the price seems high for an appliance that is mostly plastic.
But it worked fine, and I'm excited to try the black garlic.

I have had and used this machine for garlic for two years. No problems and the garlic will last for many months.

Does the pot have nonstick coating?

The bowl does have a non stick coating.

The plastic edge of the lid got badly stained. How do you clean it?

To avoid any damage to the product, we can only recommend washing in warm soapy water.

what is the volum 5L or 6L?

It has a 6L capacity.

My garlic came out a tiny bit too dry on the default time and temp. What do you suggest?

Both the time and temperature can be adjusted according to your preference. The longer the time, the higher the temperature the dryer the black garlic will be.

How do you make kimchi in this machine?

Can you adjust trays to fit bigger garlic. How many fit?

The fermenter contains a basket with a top and bottom rack. The racks can hold and ferment approximately 3 lbs. of garlic at a time

Is it normal to have about an 1/8th cup liquid in the bottom of stainless pot on day 6 of black garlic fermentation?

I did not have solo garlic so i used the regular garlic setting. I also did it for 10 days. If you used the same setting i would think 6 days is not enough. Nine days is rexommended but someone told me 10 to 12 is best. 10 seems sufficient.

i recently purchased the garlic fermenter upon a recommendation from my good friend.  i also had a problem (like "Mary B") whereby the fermenter got unplugged.  however, it didn't "pick up where it left off", but reset itself somehow.  did i do something wrong?  in the event it does happen, is there a way to know what temperatures/timing is happening on a given day of the 9 days of fermentation?  we know we were on day 6, but couldnt reset the machine to 3 days... so we set it to 6 and we'll take it out after 3, but i'd hoped it would save that in memory and reset when power returns... help?  dave holgate

If the power is suddenly cut off during the fermentation, it is designed to automatically enter the fermentation process again if the electricity is restored.
Temperatures will fluctuate daily and with garlic and solo garlic you will see large swings in temperature. On the 4th day (50°C) is normal. For garlic If the time is set to 9 or 10 days, the default temperature is 75˚C, temperature range is 73-74-75-76-77.
