Designed for continuous brewing, each lid features a 2-position system: open for airflow during fermentation and closed for airtight storage. The bottom half acts as a strainer for easy pouring, while the clear cap doubles as a ¼-cup measuring tool for kefir grains and sugar. Includes 2 BPA-free, dishwasher-safe lids (one blue, one green) for easy batch tracking. Perfect for milk or water kefir—just add grains and liquid. Jars not included.

Dr. Brigid McCrea

Educational, Extension Specialist, Chicken Whisperer

Dr. Brigid McCrea is an Extension Specialist at Auburn University working with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Avian Science are from the University of California at Davis, and Ph.D. in Poultry Science is from Auburn University. She specializes in small flocks; niche market poultry products; and both pre– and post-harvest food safety. She is also the co-author of “The Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Keeping Chickens,” “Chicken Fact or Chicken Poop,” and “Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Zero Waste Chicken Keeping.”
