Discover the perfect choice for your expert long-term food storage preservation. Heavy-duty, food-grade Textured Mylar® bags are ideal for storage of dry goods and freeze-dried foods. Perfect for keeping grains, coffee beans, dried beans, etc. fresh and protected from light, moisture, insects, dust, and debris. Save money by purchasing these foods in bulk and then re-packing in smaller portions. The 6.9-mil thickness resists puncturing and prevents oxygen and water from penetrating the bag, and a foil layer excludes light to further protect flavor and freshness. With textured sides that help eliminate hidden air pockets, these bags are suitable for sealing with an external vacuum sealer (with increased sealing time/temperature). Tear notch for easy opening. Safe for refrigerator and freezer. Not suitable for boiling or microwaving. We recommend using with oxygen absorbers (300-500cc per bag).

When vacuum sealing, it's highly recommended to choose a bag size closest to your food item's size for the best results.

Dr. Brigid McCrea

Educational, Extension Specialist, Chicken Whisperer

Dr. Brigid McCrea is an Extension Specialist at Auburn University working with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Avian Science are from the University of California at Davis, and Ph.D. in Poultry Science is from Auburn University. She specializes in small flocks; niche market poultry products; and both pre– and post-harvest food safety. She is also the co-author of “The Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Keeping Chickens,” “Chicken Fact or Chicken Poop,” and “Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Zero Waste Chicken Keeping.”
