Testing your Kombucha’s pH is a simple way to understand your brew better and make more consistent batches over time. A quick check helps you learn when to stop fermentation based on the flavor and acidity you like best, while also keeping your brew safely in range.These pH tester strips give you instant, accurate readings in the acid range of 0–6, and the color results are simple to read. To test, wet a strip with your Kombucha, then compare the color to the included chart. The closest match shows your pH level.

Dr. Brigid McCrea

Educational, Extension Specialist, Chicken Whisperer

Dr. Brigid McCrea is an Extension Specialist at Auburn University working with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Avian Science are from the University of California at Davis, and Ph.D. in Poultry Science is from Auburn University. She specializes in small flocks; niche market poultry products; and both pre– and post-harvest food safety. She is also the co-author of “The Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Keeping Chickens,” “Chicken Fact or Chicken Poop,” and “Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Zero Waste Chicken Keeping.”
