Turn your MightyBite® 5 lb. Sausage Stuffer (model 1606) into a dependable cheese press with this easy-to-use adapter. Slide the stainless steel cylinder and base into the stuffer frame, and you’re ready to start making homemade cheese. Designed to hold 1–2 gallons of milk, it produces a well-formed 1-2 lb. wheel that’s ideal for fresh eating or aging. Pressing removes the remaining moisture from the curds, helps form a natural rind, and creates a smooth, uniform interior. Cleanup stays simple—remove the cylinder the same way you do when making sausage, wash it, and place it in the dishwasher if you prefer. Built for durability and ease of use, this adapter gives you a practical way to craft your own small-batch, artisan-style cheeses at home.

Dr. Brigid McCrea is an Extension Specialist at Auburn University working with the Alabama Cooperative Extension System. Her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Avian Science are from the University of California at Davis, and Ph.D. in Poultry Science is from Auburn University. She specializes in small flocks; niche market poultry products; and both pre– and post-harvest food safety. She is also the co-author of “The Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Keeping Chickens,” “Chicken Fact or Chicken Poop,” and “Chicken Whisperer’s Guide to Zero Waste Chicken Keeping.”
